Welcome to the Birkbeck Library Catalogue

Please click on the Search tab to search the catalogue.
Click on the My Account tab to see the items you have on loan, and to renew them. Remember to logout after using My Account.
Library Store items We regret that items in the Library Store are not available at the moment as the store is being moved to new premises. Apologies for the inconveneince this may cause. When we know more about a date when the material will be available we will post it here and on the website. Updated 11/12/09
Bloomsbury? Items shown as being at "Bloomsbury" on the catalogue are held in the main Birkbeck Library. This replaces "Malet Street" as a location name. Updated 29/09/09
Email notices Library communications with all users are sent by email. Birkbeck students should note that we use the contact email address held on your student record. You can check and edit this via the "My Birkbeck" site. Please use an address you check regularly and ensure that it can receive messages from us. External members of the library are strongly encouraged to register an email address with us when joining the library. Updated 07/12/09
Library Fines Fines are charged on overdue items so please keep your books up to date and renew or return them on time. Check your library account to see what you have on loan. The list will tell you if anything is due back soon or overdue. If we have your email address we will send out a courtesy reminder before a book is due as well as reminders if it is overdue, but it is your responsibility to keep your account up to date. We email you if any fines have been added to your record within the past few days. If you owe more than 25 pounds in fines you will not be able to borrow until this has been reduced. Updated 07/12/09
Placing Requests Requests can only be made on items where all 3 week and 1 week loan copies are 'On loan' or where copies are new items. Items shown as 'Available' are on the shelves and must be retrieved by library users themselves. When an item is requested we will email the current borrower to let them know that another reader is waiting for the item. Updated 28/01/08
